BrightFields GIS mapping capabilities range from location map creation, mapping of site features and characteristics such as wetlands, floodplains, drainage, zoning and land use, and demographics. A crucial feature to the success of BrightFields spatial analysis is the design, creation, and maintenance of GIS-compatible databases. These databases are used to create data posting maps, area and volume calculations, and groundwater elevation contours along with many other processes. BrightFields has 3D modeling capabilities to represent site terrain, contamination plumes, and geologic cross-sections.
BrightFields acquires data using existing databases or by collecting new data in the field. We use Trimbles’ GeoXH handheld GPS unit for data collection to a horizontal accuracy of less than 1 foot.
BrightFields’ GIS team handles CAD mapping and converting of drawings, setting up mobile devices (such as iPads and iPhones) using various apps for site walks and site orientation data.
